The Healthy Heart Challenge will start on June 1 as part of the launch for Go Red for Women month.

THE Heart Foundations Go Red for Women campaign starts next month and two local MLAs are getting ready to take part.

The boss wondered why one of his most valued employees was absent, but had not phoned in. Needing to have an urgent work problem resolved, he dialed the employees home phone number and was greeted by a childs whispered, Hello.

Nolra MLA Janine Freeman and Maylands MLA Lisa Baker are taking part in this years Healthy Heart Challenge, which is an important part of the foundations Go Red for Women campaign.

People can choose one of six healthy goals to work towards during the 10-week challenge, and receive weekly e-newsletters with tips, recipes and information, access to online tools and resources, as well as support and information via the Heart Foundation helpline.

Men are also welcome to join the challenge.

Mrs Freeman said thousands of women were expected to take part in the Healthy Heart Challenge, a free 10-week program designed to encourage small, but realistic, lifestyle changes to help improve their heart health this year.
