PATIENTS waiting for elective surgery at Maroondah Hospital are in line to benefit from more than $2 million in federal funding.

&8220;Maroondah Hospital welcomes the Federal Government&8217;s support of our initiatives to continue to provide great healthcare for people and communities in Melbourne&8217;s east,&8221; Ms Shaw-Stuart said.

The hospital&8217;s chief of clinical and site operations, Lisa Shaw-Stuart, said the elective surgery funding would support continuing efforts to reduce waiting times.

Deakin federal Labor MP Mike Symon revealed that $2.1 million in funding would be given to Eastern Health to treat 279 patients.
