A hospital in Ncgobo in the Eastern Cape will receive R47 million to upgrade its cilities, the provincial departmenteastern cape provincial department of health of health said.

In April, the department announced it would spend R1.9 billion in renovating hospitals and building clinics in the province.

eastern capeECape hospital gets R47M celift,"The MEC [Sicelo Gqobane] made a surprise visit to Mjanyana hospital in Ngcobo… he announced that R47 million would be given to rebuild the hospital," spokesman Sizwe Kupelo said.

About R7 million would be set aside for the design of the new hospital. Community members were being consulted on whether a new structure should be built in the same location or at a location closer to villages in the area.

"The money was prompted by complaints from traditional leaders to President Zuma about the dilapidated infrastructure," he eastern capeECape hospital gets R47M celiftsaid.
